Professor David Hind is  President of the Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management; President of the APIEM Academy; Chairman of the Sri Lanka Institute for Events Management Board of Study; Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Business and Management and Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia; Managing Editor of  the Asia Pacific International Events Management Journal; Chief Executive of the United Kingdom Event Industry Academy Ltd ; Distinguished Professor at Chung Hua University, Taiwan; Visiting Professor at Bali, Institute of Tourism, Indonesia; Batam Tourism Polytechnic, Indonesia; Bandung Institute of Tourism, Indonesia; and Palembang Polytechnic of Tourism, Indonesia.

Until 31 August 2016 Professor David Hind was Head of School Events, Tourism & Hospitality at Leeds Beckett University, United Kingdom. He has over 30 years experience working in tourism, events and hospitality education in the United Kingdom and overseas. He is the author of nine textbooks on events management, sustainable tourism; and employability skills and has completed 45 research and consultancy projects.

He is Invited frequently to give keynote conference presentations on topics related to events management, sustainable tourism and employability skills (Russia, Cyprus, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia). Professor David Hind is an international expert on how students can develop their employability skills and how employability skills development can be integrated into the curriculum.
