MARIA ARLENE T. DISIMULACION, MBA, CEE

VICE PRESIDENT APIEM ACADEMY ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

Maria Arlene T. Disimulacion (Bam) is an academician, consultant, entrepreneur, and author. She has over 30 years of solid experience in marketing and communications, training, strategic management, and events management in the Philippines and abroad. She has managed international MICE and special events for which she received several awards for innovative concepts and strategic execution. Currently, she is the Consultant for Academic Affairs and Marketing at the Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management.

Bam graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BSBA) from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman and completed her Master in Business Administration (MBA) with High Distinction from the Far Eastern University (FEU) Makati. She also completed certificate courses from the University of California Irvine, Florida Atlantic University (FAU), and the University of South Florida (USF). She is also an APIEM Certified Event Educator and Professional Fellow.

She is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management at FEU. She has been awarded as one of the Ten Outstanding Faculty at FEU. Her published researches focus on MICE tourism and special events, sustainability and information and communications technologies (ICTs), and creative tourism. She has written five tourism and hospitality books. She is also one of the authors of “Best Practices “International Best Practice in Events Management based on the APIEM Certified Event Manager.”
